How we price phones
Every number we use is on this page. If you think one is wrong, tell us at hello@eazefy.in.
The short version
Price = launch price × age drop × condition × battery × box and bill × warranty
We then show a range of 7% either side, rounded to the nearest ₹100, because no two phones or buyers are the same.
How phones lose value with age
A phone drops a chunk of value as soon as it's used, then keeps falling each year. The drop depends on the kind of phone. A phone never goes below 8% of its launch price in our estimates.
| Price group | Drop once used | Drop each year after |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | 15% | 16% |
| Android flagship | 22% | 20% |
| Android mid-range | 20% | 20% |
| Android budget | 22% | 20% |
Condition
| Condition | Share of top price | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Like new | 100% | No scratches. Looks unused. |
| Good | 90% | Light marks you only see up close. |
| Fair | 78% | Visible scratches or small dents. Everything works. |
| Poor | 60% | Cracked glass, or a part doesn't work. |
Battery
| Battery | Share of top price | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Strong | 100% | Lasts a full day. iPhone: 90% health or more. |
| Average | 95% | Needs a top-up by evening. iPhone: 80–89%. |
| Weak | 87% | Drains fast. iPhone: below 80%. |
Box, bill and warranty
Having both the original box and bill adds 3%. Having neither takes off 4%. An active brand warranty adds 5%.
Real listings
When we've checked at least 5 real listings for a phone, we mix their typical price with the formula and say so on that phone's page. We read listings ourselves; we don't copy other websites' data.
What we don't do
We don't buy phones, and no one pays us to show a higher or lower price. These are estimates, not offers.
